Commercial, Industrial, & Residential Boilers
The term "boiler" as it is commonly used in North America refers to a system which utilizes a pressure vessel to heat water to be used in a "process", to be used to humidify, or (most commonly) to be used to condition space temperature in a structure. A boiler can either be a steam boiler or a hot water boiler. Steam boilers use water vapor as the useful medium of heat transfer or for humidification, while hot water boilers use liquid water as the useful medium of heat transfer. Within the two categories of "hot water boiler" and "steam boiler" there are several subcategories of boilers based on the boiler's construction design, BTU output, pressure operation range, and use.
